Post-Brexit, transporting pets to the United Kingdom from Bulgaria or any other EU country involves strict regulations to protect both animal and human health.

🏥 UK Health Certificate – A Legal Requirement

If you're using commercial transport for your pet to travel from Bulgaria to the UK, the following is mandatory:

✅ Official Animal Health Certificate

  • Issued by BFSA (Bulgarian Food Safety Agency) Official Government Vet only & MUST be entered on the IPAFFS system to notify U.K of your pets entry.

  • Generated through the EU TRACES system

  • Required for entry checks by APHA (UK Animal & Plant Health Agency) and EU authorities

  • Valid for 10 days from the date of issue by an official government veterinarian

  • Must accompany the pet upon arrival at the UK border

This document is not optional — without it, your pet may be refused entry, quarantined, or even seized at the UK border.
